2026 State of the Chamber announces 2025 impact, 2026 goals, and presents annual Chamber awards.
[SANDY, Utah] — The South Valley Chamber of Commerce presented its 2025 Impact Report at the annual State of the Chamber event Wednesday, highlighting record growth in ribbon cuttings, event participation and membership while outlining strategic priorities for 2026.
The Chamber serves as the official partner to seven cities — Sandy, Draper, South Jordan, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Herriman and Bluffdale — with a mission to connect, educate, advocate and grow the business community through events, committees and programs designed to support businesses across the South Valley.
“When I took over the Chamber in October 2020, I wanted our events to have purpose,” said Jay Francis, president and CEO of the South Valley Chamber. “Each event we host, I want people to leave saying, ‘I met someone, I learned something or I am better for attending.’”
Among the highlights shared from 2025:
- 85 ribbon cuttings, representing a 60% increase over the past three years
- A total membership of 585 businesses, including 195 new members added in 2025
- Approximately 4,500 attendees and participants across Chamber events and programs
- Over 1,000 followers increase combined across all social media platforms
The Chamber also announced its 2026 theme, “Better Together,” emphasizing a more focused, strategic and purpose-driven approach in the year ahead. “Business is better together,” Francis said. “We are better because you are here, and that is our focus for 2026.” Key focus areas for the coming year include service and community impact, business growth and economic development, member retention and value, and public policy leadership.
The event concluded with the announcement of the new South Valley Chamber Small Business Impact Award. Beginning in 2026, one small business from each of the seven partner cities will be selected to receive the award annually. Chamber leadership, including Jayme Jensen, vice president and managing director, and Cory Covington, vice president of business development, joined Francis in recognizing outstanding members of the South Valley Chamber community.
Awards presented included:
• Board Member of the Year Award: Kellie Challburg, Draper City
• Tourism Award: Sports Salt Lake
• Community Service Award: Cyprus Credit Union
• Chamber Service Award: Matt Quinney, Columbia Bank
• Business Education Award: Ryan Gregerson, RCG Law Group
• President’s Award: The Larry H. Miller Company
