Cottonwood Heights Partners with South Valley Chamber

Mayor Mike Weichers Pledges Full Support to South Valley Chamber of Commerce, Enabling Growth and Prosperity for Cottonwood Heights Businesses

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, October 25, 2023 – Mayor Mike Weichers of Cottonwood Heights announced today the city's endorsement and commitment to the South Valley Chamber of Commerce (SVC). Recognized for its outstanding contributions in fostering economic development and providing essential resources, the SVC has played a pivotal role in aiding businesses of all sizes with an emphasis on small businesses.

"The South Valley Chamber has consistently demonstrated its dedication to equipping small businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to not only survive but thrive," stated Jay Francis, President & CEO of the South Valley Chamber. "Empowering businesses is at the heart of our mission, and we're thrilled to have the support of Cottonwood Heights in this endeavor."

Mayor Weichers expressed his enthusiasm for the newly forged partnership, emphasizing the crucial need for local businesses to connect, network, and access valuable resources. "We recognized that our businesses needed a platform to engage, learn, and grow. The South Valley Chamber has proven its ability to provide just that," Mayor Weichers affirmed.

Cottonwood Heights businesses can look forward to a range of enriching events and programs offered by the SVC, including in a very active Women in Business program, serval member engagement lunches and events, timely “In The Know” meeting for current and high profile topics from business, civic and government leaders. They have robust education efforts to help businesses gain the tools and education needed to grow and succeed.  They also hold golf tournaments, an annual gala honoring community, civic, and business leaders.

South Valley Chamber Partners with Five Local Hotels to Launch Pilot Program for Menstrual Product Accessibilty

Sandy August 8, 2023 - The South Valley Chamber, in collaboration with five prominent hotels in the region, is proud to announce the commencement of a two-month pilot program aimed at enhancing guest experiences and raising awareness about menstrual product accessibility. This innovative initiative is set to provide complimentary period products to hotel guests, reflecting a shared commitment to community well-being and gender equality.

The participating hotels, including Hilton Garden Inn – Sandy, Residence Inn – Sandy, Courtyard by Marriott – Sandy, Embassy Suites – South Jordan, and Hampton Inn – Draper, have joined hands with the South Valley Chamber to implement this pioneering program. Upon checking into their rooms, guests will find a specially curated packet, containing a personalized note from the hotel and chamber, along with two free period products.

This initiative signifies a shared vision for social responsibility and community engagement, showcasing the power of partnerships in driving positive change.
