Leadership South Valley donates hundreds of snack boxes to support local students

[SANDY, Utah] -

Members of the Leadership South Valley (LSV) program came together this month to make a tangible difference in the lives of local students, donating hundreds of boxes of snacks to the Jordan and Canyons School District food pantries.

Each Leadership South Valley cohort completes a community service project. After meeting with Superintendent Godfrey and Superintendent Robins, the group launched a food drive to support students affected by reduced SNAP benefits and weekend food insecurity.

To maximize impact, participants created an Amazon wish list and shared it across social media, professional networks and workplaces.

Local businesses and community members rallied behind the cause, including Chick-fil-A Draper and Sandy, which hosted a one-day food drive offering a free chicken sandwich or nuggets for each donation.

The donated snacks will be distributed through the school district food pantries to fill weekend snack packs for students who might otherwise go without.

“The amazing leaders who participated in Leadership South Valley rallied and motivated their own organizations and networks to come together,” said Ryan Gregerson, attorney at RCG Law Group and participant in the 2025 Leadership South Valley cohort. “These efforts were a particularly touching experience for me as the son of a father who taught Elementary School for more than 40 years, and a mother who worked as a lunch lady to help us make ends meet.”

Leadership South Valley, hosted by the South Valley Chamber, is built on the belief that great leaders understand and engage with the full scope of their community, including its challenges.

“Leadership South Valley is about more than professional development. It’s about creating leaders who understand their community and feel a responsibility to improve it,” said Jayme Jensen, managing director of the South Valley Chamber and director of the Leadership South Valley program. “This project shows how awareness can turn into meaningful action that directly benefits local families.”

The group will continue accepting snack donations through December 5, 2025. To contribute, visit https://a.co/0NVCPwU

A second round of donations will be delivered after the Women in Business Holiday Soiree on December 9, 2025.
